Welcome to the website of Greater Open Door Church Of God In Christ Building Project.

On July 4, 1967, Garon Harden at the age of 19 years old left Blytheville, Arkansas to relocate to Long Beach, California under the direction of God.  He did not know one person who lived in the Southern California area.  He had only enough money to rent a room for one week.  God performed miracle after miracle in Garon Harden’s life.

On June 15, 1980 he founded the Greater Open Door Church of God in Christ (COGIC) located at 2181 Orange Avenue in Long Beach, California.  The church started with 30 members.  On August 28, 1987 he bought a Calvary Chapel church building located at 132 East Artesia Blvd.  At this time, Greater Open Door Church of God in Christ had grown to 300 members.  Today Greater Open Door Church of God in Christ has 1100 members with a ministry staff of 43 Elders, Ministers, and Missionaries.

God gave Pastor Dr. Garon Harden Sr. a vision to build a new larger church which would enable his ministry to:

• Evangelize more souls for Jesus Christ.
• Help equip and teach more Christians to win souls for Jesus Christ.
• Expand his ministry to spread the Gospel to more people by television ministry broadcasts.

The new church will also house the Children’s Daycare Center, and a K through 6th Grade Christian Elementary School.

The new church including the parking lot is a 54,450 square feet construction project.

During construction services will be held at 455 East Artesia Blvd -  Long Beach, CA 90805
8am - 11:30am - 6:30pm
